OUR PASTOR

REV. HAROLD A. SPANN SR.

Harold Allen Spann Sr. was born in Gulfport, MS. on September 22, 1952.  He is the fifth son of ten children born to late Reverend Charlie and Oakerener Rice Spann Sr.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend Willie C. Rice Sr.  He attended North Gulfport and Harrison Central High School.  In July 1972, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country for over 31 years, which included assignments in Japan, Okinawa, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Vietnam, California, North Carolina, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana.

 

In 1999, Rev. Spann accepted his “call” to the Gospel Ministry at Shiloh Church of God in Christ, Oceanside, California, where he served as President of Brotherhood, Sunday School Teacher.  While still serving in the military his duties took him to North Carolina where he continued working in the Lord’s vineyard by reaching out to others, evangelizing, counseling and preaching.

In 2001, God brought him back to Gulfport, where under the leadership of Rev. Reuben P. Magee, he served as a Association Minister, Minister of Education, President of Brotherhood and Adult Sunday School Teacher.  Pastor Spann is currently a student at the Mississippi Baptist Seminary where he is pursuing his degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Education.  He also is working on his degree in Information Technology with Kaplan Education. God continue to use him to lead his peoples and spiritually enrich lives by giving them the true and living word of God.  Rev Spann was Ordained into the ministry on Oct 22, 2006.

In Aug 2007, Rev Magee became ill and Rev Spann would have to take on the duties of Acting Pastor until Rev Magee would retired on January 1, 2009.  In January 2009, Rev Spann became pastor – elect of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and on January 28, 2009.

 

Rev. Spann is married to Ms Annette Crosby Spann and they have seven children, four boys and three daughters, to which one is decease (Andre’ L.Spann),

Harold A. Spann Jr. Atlanta, GA; Niyoko M. and Antonio M Spann both Gulfport, MS,

Krishna A. Spann, LaToya K. Dallas and Antwain J. Spann all of Atlanta, Ga. and fifteen grandchildren.
